Member Spotlight: Buccini Pollin Group
The Buccini brothers have always had roots in Wilmington. That is one of the many reasons why they chose to start their business here. Through the ’90s, they saw New York City, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia experience a Renaissance. With Wilmington in the center of it all, it was clear that the economic boom would eventually come here as well. In the past 20 years, Buccini Pollin has invested 1.2 billion dollars into the city.
BPG has sparked change all over the community of Wilmington. From working with the Wilmington Housing Partnership to establishing a local soccer league, the company gives back as much as possible. BPG has been quintessential to the continued growth of Wilmington. Since becoming one of the founding members of the WLA, Buccini Pollin has continued to support the community through the Millennial Summit each year and has philanthropically provided school supplies for local students in need.
The Future of Wilmington
In a recent interview with the WLA, Chris Buccini of BPG was asked what he saw as the future of Wilmington. Chris sees the city as the place to go to test out ideas from financial technology to charter schools and restaurants – a home for incredible start-up businesses and the entrepreneurial community. “We want Wilmington to be a place for young people – that they find it an exciting place to move. At the end of the day, you need companies here to create jobs and make it a very vibrant economy.”
